Here goes: I'm the boy next door. No, I wasn’t the football captain or anything. But I was raised a southern gentleman and know that there's only one way to treat a lady: with respect, tenderness and honesty. I enjoy treating a woman special. Doing those little things that bring a smile to her face honestly makes me smile. I am a hopeless romantic. What does that mean? I like carriage rides in the evening together, picnics and playing around on a rainy day. I am not an aggressive person but I am confident in myself and my abilities. I am financially and emotionally secure. Yep, that's right, no baggage! I may not have the best fashion sense in the world but I'm looking for that special woman who wouldn't mind helping me out a little. OK, here's something that will probably have half of you going on to the next profile. I smoke a pipe. But I'm very conscientious about it. I won't smoke around anyone who doesn't like it. I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to help me quit. I play golf, softball and I bowl. I like being outside when it's warm and staying home and curling up on a couch with someone when it's cold. I can be handy around the house and am quite domesticated. I am an amateur photographer and some of my pictures were inspired by Ansel Adams. Meeting at a restaurant and sitting outside where we start to talk. Later we realize that we've been talking so long that the waiters and waitresses are wondering when we're going home. We take a walk through a park or go for a drive and the conversation keeps going like we've been friends forever.

The only thing that I want to try that I haven't is white water rafting.

She must be honest. That's very important to me. If you're not willing to tell me up front what you’re feeling then don't bother. She should be intelligent, kind and looking for a friend to share life's adventure with. She should take care of herself but not be an exercise fanatic. She's not a slob; however, neither should she be a "neat freak". I'm not a slob but there are times when I just don't want to make the bed. My ideal match would love spontaneous weekend drives. The woman of my dreams likes her time alone and is comfortable with herself but wants to spend time with me. She should be comfortable on a picnic or out to see a play and a nice dinner.
